In a shocking incident, the body of a 25-year-old woman named Nikki Yadav was found lying inside a freezer in Delhi’s Najafgarh area on Tuesday. The body was recovered from a dhaba and the victim is said to be a resident of Jhajjar, Haryana.
The accused, a 24-year-old Dhaba owner named Sahil Gahlot, was in a relationship with the deceased. He has been arrested and an initial probe has revealed that the woman was allegedly killed 2 to 3 days ago.
Nikki Yadav was killed after she objected to the accused’s marriage to another woman. The accused used a data cable to kill her and later stuffed her body into a freezer, an initial probe revealed.
HOW NIKKI YADAV MET ACCUSED SAHIL GAHLOT
As the probe was underway, the Dhaba owner Sahil Gahlot revealed that he had met the now deceased Nikki Yadav in January 18, when he had started preparing for SSC exams at Career Point Coaching Centre at Uttam Nagar. Back then, Yadav was also preparing for a medical entrance examination at Akash Institute in the same area.
They used to travel together to Uttam Nagar in the same bus, and subsequently fell in love. They used to meet before and after the coaching classes.
In February 2018, both the accused and the victim took admission at the Galgotiya College in Greater Noida under different courses. Thereafter, both of them started living together in a rented house. They also travelled to several places such as Manali, Rishikesh, Haridwar and Dehradun.
GRUESOME DETAILS OF NIKKI YADAV’S MURDER
During the investigation, Gahlot confessed to Nikki Yadav’s murder and said he did it on the intervening night of February 9 and 10. Preliminary interrogation revealed that Gahlot was getting married on February 10.
The accused strangulated Nikki with the help of a data cable of his mobile phone kept in his car. Thereafter, he went to the dhaba owned by him and put her dead body in a refrigerator at a vacant plot on the outskirts of Mitraon Village. The accused then went to his home and got married to another girl.
